Ward Mosmuller

Ward Wosmuller is Director Corporate Public Affairs at DSM, reporting to the CEO/managing board since March 2009. In this role, he is involved in many internal and external representation roles and advises and works on strategic issues that impact the license to operate of DSM.

 

Ward studied Molecular Sciences at Wageningen University and obtained his PhD-degree in 1993 in Bio-organic Chemistry. He joined Senter, the Dutch agency for technology and innovation. A.o. he was coordinator of the national innovation programme on (bio)catalysis with more than 90 researchers and manager of the industrial development loan scheme (TOK) with a € 700 million project portfolio. In this period he obtained his MBA-degree.

 

In 2001 he joined PricewaterhouseCoopers, Global Risk Management Solutions. He was one of the key members of the Life Sciences team of PwC NL. At the end of 2002 he became managing director of BioPartner. BioPartner supported universities in improving their capabilities in entrepreneurship and helped setting-up spin-offs in life sciences. In this capacity he was involved in many national life sciences initiatives in the public and private area.

 

In 2005 he started his own company with a focus on innovation and technology transfer. He worked for local and national governments, e.g. Topinstitutes, Development Agencies, universities and SMEs. He was one of the founders of Health Valley in 2005, a regional brooker between science and business. In 2006 he was cofounder of the Technology Transfer Office of VU University & Medical Centre and was appointed managing director (on a part-time basis) and (co)founded several spin-off companies.
